Minivolt Thermopile for Water Heater Compatible with Reliance, Whirlpool, AO Smith, Kenmore, American Water Heater

The Thermopile Assembly is typically installed on the pilot assembly of fireplaces, frying and heating equipment. It is a temperature sensor that takes a signal from heat and generates a voltage that opens or closes a valve to allow heater gas in or out. The necessary operating temperature for the thermopile is 1202°F and a heating temperature of 750mV is required.

This Minivolt Thermopile Replacement Parts are compatible with Reliance, Whirlpool, A.O. Smith, Kenmore Brand Gas Water Heater Boilers. It takes 60 seconds (2 minutes) to heat up to 750mV, and the flame should heat up to the middle of the head sensor, so you may need time to wait for the valve to start working. If the valve fails to open, you may need to check that the flame is hot enough, sometimes replacing the throttle orifice or pilot tube.

The Minivolt Thermopile solves problems such as water heater indicator lights that don't come on often and damaged thermocouples that cause the water heater not to heat up. It is a replacement for fireplace pilot burner assembly with an internal resistance (25°C) of approximately 4000 mΩ and a heating voltage above 750 mV.

Installation Steps: 1. Turn off the gas supply. 2. Remove all parts from the gas valve. 3. Remove the burner assembly. 4. Remove thermocouple from pilot assembly. 5. Install new thermocouple. 6. Put all parts back in place. 7. Turn on the gas supply and check for leaks.
